Hi Gary, it isn't Gravity Forms that is unreliable, but instead the WordPress sendmail system. Here are our troubleshooting steps for notifications: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Troubleshooting_Notifications

If you could go through them, and isolate the issue, that'd be great. All my best!

Same issue. I use a form to collect name / address / etc. Get 10 - 30 new names a day. Data are logged in the entries section correctly and most of the entries are sent to me. Very frustrating. I'd moved from Contact Form 7 (free plug-in) to GF because of other issues and now I find that GF is unreliable too.

Without some form of error notification, I cannot trust GF to send information correctly or at all.

How can I help you troubleshoot this defect?

I recently dealt with an issue where a small percentage of my notifications were being filtered as spam. No reason for it. You've probably considered this, but just throwing it out there in case you haven't.

It's very infrequent and there is no pattern I can discern.

Looks like 2 out of 99 forms submissions did not email notifications during 1st-10th December.

No attachements are permissible in ths form

I can't see how it could be server config if it works the vast majority of the time.

We use WP Super Cache plugin for caching. We do not minify.

We use BackWPup for website backup, but the last notification email failure did not coincinde with scheduled backup.

You would have to find the source of the issue for us to be able to really help. E-mail is a complex thing. If it is failing because of attachments, then that's one issue. If it is failing because of a server configuration, then that's another. Is there any noticeable pattern to the failure? Do you have any plugins that might be effecting WordPress' sendmail? Are you using caching or minifying plugins?

Have a look at the following post by Yoast as well: http://yoast.com/email-reliability/

In a few cases, we are finding out that email notifications are not being sent when a form is submitted, despite the form entry being recorded in the back-end database.

Most of the time it works fine, just occassionally the notifications fail - however this equates to lost business for us. Hence we really have to address this issue. Reliability is essential for us, why was why we purchased Gravity Forms in the first palce rather tha use a free plugin.

Any reasons why the notifications may fail in some cases, and is there anything that can be done?

Thanks in advance.
