When you hit enter it populates the field with todays date. When the datepicker is displayed you are supposed to pick a date using the datepicker. When I enter 16.12.2011 in the field manually (not using the date picker) and then submit the form... it triggers validation on the other fields I didn't fill out but the date field still contains the value I entered. While I understand the option to have a different date format is important to you, this is the only forum thread i'm aware of that discusses it so it's not a feature that has been heavily requested.</p> <p>We can try and include it in the 1.7 release. This would solve all internationalization problems with date formats (where you want the user to enter a simple date in a field). </p>
