The Google Apps issue with email notifications not being received to a Google Apps from the same domain is a setup issue with how Google Apps is setup. We had that problem with our own Google Apps setup and BlueHost, contacted BlueHost and explained what was going on and they made a change on their end and that corrected the issue. I'm not 100% sure what was changed but it had to do with the hosting setup and how it worked with Google Apps email.

I have isolated the source of the notification issue and yes it is server specific. When using Google Apps for Domain to manage emails on the domain I hadn't disabled the server default mail program. For whatever reason, it only became an issue when a php script generated the mail (GF) to accounts from the domain that triggered the non-send.

The activate / de-activate issue I did test on a vanilla install and still happened, but as I'm not seeing any other demonstratable problems relating to it, I'll chalk it up to a harmless ghost in the machine.

@Idealien Have never had anyone report something like this before. It is some sort of server configuration or WordPress configuration issue specific to that server. It certainly shouldn't be doing that. I don't really have any suggestions as we have never encountered anything like that, nor are any other users reporting something like that so it's something isolated and specific to that server setup. Have you tested it on a brand new WordPress install?

That being said, perhaps a more graceful error detection / message would save anybody else from the false opinion that GF is an incomplete product.

I am having an issue with activation on one particular server. The first time I try to activate I do not receive any error messages, but the forms menu is not created either. If I de/re-activate the menu shows up but I have inconsistent sending issues for notifications on any form I create.

Any suggestions?

@fredericd if you had read through the FAQ before posting AS SUGGESTED you would have seen it's the second thing listed. It's not a Gravity Forms issue and doesn't need testing or debugging, you simply need to make sure your hosting environment meets the requirements to run the plugin. There's no need to be short or to make snide remarks, we're happy to help if you have a problem.

Gravity Forms requires PHP5. Your server is using PHP4. This is covered in the FAQ:
http://www.gravityhelp.com/frequently-asked-questions/#faq_installation

It's also covered pretty extensively in the forums here:
http://forum.gravityhelp.com/tags/unexpected-t_string

X-Powered-By: PHP/4.4.9
X-Pingback: http://omnipresse.com/xmlrpc.php

Switch to PHP5 and you won't have this error.

I just purchased the gravity forms plugin and it appears in the plugin list but it does not activate. Here is the error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/dateafte/public_html/omnipresse.com/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 53

I did not buy your product to test and debug it nor I have the time to do this so please come up with an answer.

Regards
