Chris,

Thankyou so much. I knew it was probably something simple, I just couldn't quite figure it out.

Merry Christmas mate.

Cheers.

Add a "Custom Field" from the "Post Fields" section in the form builder (normally the 3rd section down (normally Standard Fields, Advanced Fields then Post Fields). Add that your form, then insert the name of the custom field, either from the drop down if it's an existing field, or by adding a new one. Just type it in there. It will look like this: http://minus.com/mFDjSE1G7#1

There is really no more to it than that. That will capture the information.

Save your form, then edit it again. You can not insert this new custom field into your content template by using the drop down. It will be present there. If it's not, click the forms menu, the edit this form again to be sure it's definitely reloaded fresh. Let us know if you need any help with that.

Don't try typing the merge tag into the content template manually. Insert it from the drop down. If it's not there, there is something wrong. Exit that screen and come back to it. It should be there now if it was saved correctly.

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how I can use GF to create and/or populate a custom field in a WP post.

For example, I want to create a new custom field called 'Fruit' in my post. My GF form might say 'What is your fav fruit?'. This value would then be assigned to the Custom Field within a new post.

I've tried reading over a number of threads here, but nothing seems to cover it. I'm sure I'm missing something so obvious. I'm hoping I just need to know the correct syntax to put within the Create Content Template section for the Body field. For instance, I've tried {fruit:22} (where 22 is the form field), but to no avail - I just have the text "{fruit:apple}" added to the post body.
