mediana, please start a new topic for you issue and define what you're looking for. It's difficult to address multiple issues in one topic, especially when they're different. We want to give your issue individual attention.

I want to achieve quite the same thing than you espimedia, at least on point 1).
I have mixed the two forms (post + regist) in one to have a better user experience.
But now, I can't find a way to allow posting when a user is already logged on.
That's a major limitation to the extension to me to block such an action.
Any help here ?

1.6 is very very close. I'll see if Carl Hancock has a better estimate and can post that here. Thanks.

Thank you Chris, it says I have latest 1.5.3 and I'm now using reCAPTCHA. Do you have a date for 1.6 ? Since I'm learning the process... I didn't want to risk using the beta... should I?

so with 1.5.3...

Then the 2 form option would works. Any links as to a how to tutorial for a two part form?

And what if.... the user loged in via WP Dashboard, then they would see the login again? OR just the submit post form? (just submit post form is what I would like) Would then this still be a two part form? sorry about the basic questions.

2) Akismet anti-spam support is built in to Gravity Forms 1.6 and later. The final version is not out yet, but will be very soon. Other things you can do:

Enable the anti-spam honeypot on the form settings (adds a hidden field that robots will sometimes pick up, and visitors will never see, so if a value is submitted, chances are it's a spammer)

Use reCAPTCHA or Really Simple Captcha

Thinking about the other question now. Are you using version 1.6? 1.6 has the option to require the user to be logged in, and if not, you can display an alternate form. To use that, you could split one form into two, and show the story submission form only if the visitor is logged in. If not logged in, show the registration form.

Could someone please help me with step-by-step dummy proof help?

My site is a community news website. I just upgraded to Developer $ :) so I can have the User registration feature.

1) I have created a "Submit Story" + "User Registration" form in one. Works great. Standard required fields for first timers include "username" and "email".

Now, for a returning users logged in:

a) How do I tell the same above form not to require registration fields ? Actually if I'm logging in I don't want those field to even show up.

b) But if USER IS NOT login in, all fields should show for a new registration OR ASK USER to login if registered then forward to above a)

Hope I make sense. I think this is related to using "conditional logic" fields... If so, please kindly provide steps, I have no idea how...

2)*On a related note, how do I stop robots+spam from getting a hold of my form?
