Gravity Forms is a form builder, the only way to edit and create forms is via the form builder. You can edit the form export XML in a text editor but you need to be extremely careful because if you mess something up it can cause problems with the resulting form.

There is no export to Excel/etc. for editing your form because Gravity Forms features and settings are far too complex to handle editing in spreadsheet form. It simply isn't possible to provide a way to do that because of the complexity and features involved.

So, the only way to edit forms is question by question? It's quite tedious!! Especially since you can't collapse the entry fields, moving questions around becomes really confusing and difficult.

Forms are only export to XML and need to retain the XML format. They can't be imported into Excel. We use XML for the form configuration data, not CSV or table based. So you can't edit the XML in Excel because the XML is too complex for Excel to handle. It's not a flat system of rows/columns, it's complex XML.

You can edit the XML by hand, but you must be very careful when doing so as you can cause problems by messing up the XML and then importing the form with XML issues.

When I export my form, I hope to be able to edit it and then upload it for use, but I'd have to edit a bunch of xml by hand and it might save SOME time, but not as much as I could save if I could do the editing in Excel. However, I have run into major compatability issues and it only looks like you can export and import these files rather than edit them with Excel. Is there any software that will view/edit my xml as a table so that I can re-import?
