Thank you so much for your detailed response. That gives me a much better idea. Can I use these plugins with the Personal version - I only need this for one website - or do I need to use one of the more advanced packages?

You can create all the registration forms. Sounds like you have a combination of solutions for that.

Import won't be handled by Gravity Forms, but there was recently announced a 3rd party add-on to do just that: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-mass-import/

Gravity Forms does not have any provision for someone entering a form to come back and edit their entry later. There is an add-on plugin which would allow a visitor to come back and edit their entry. Maybe your companies could be stored in custom post types? If so, I think you could use this add-on: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-update-post/

Or, maybe the Directory Add-on would be closer to what you're looking for?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-addons/

These last two add-ons were not created by us and still require that you install Gravity Forms.

The website I'm working on needs to allow vendors to sign up via registration form to be in a database for the company to search when bids come up. The company would then search the database by category for vendors. Then the company could pull the list of vendors for emailing, preferably with a read receipt. I'm wondering if Gravity Forms isn't the solution here.

- Registration form with full contact information (address, phone, etc.) and categories for the vendors to select. This would be separate from the registration forms needed for employee registration (regular WordPress login process) and landlord registration (using a third-party real estate plugin).
- I need to be able to import vendors who are currently in their list. I have the data in CSV format.
- The vendors need to be able to edit their profiles to keep them updated if their contact information changes.

Is GF the answer?
