For a 3rd party solution, you can use this:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-dropbox-uploader/stats/

It supports naming directories as you have asked (some of the variables are included, but not all.)

Which topics have you already read and tried? We can start with one of those.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Can you use a 3rd party uploader plugin to do what the gravity form uploader does not...just want to see how everyone fixed this issue.

Thank you
Steve

Issue:
I have read alot on how to have your files renamed by inserting code in the functions PHP file. I am creating about 10 different forms that will allow a user to upload multiple images in each one. Is there a way that the code snipped floating around can be made so that any file in any form ID will be renamed with the field ID and username...something to that nature. I am implementing this now and my partners are not happy about the file name structure. The code seems to be Form and Field ID specific. I would like all fields and forms to have the files renamed to a standard I chose.

Thank you very much for your time!!!! this is the only hurdle I see so far.
