@Delta: While the tools/guidelines described in this thread are a good starting point.. the simple fact is that CAPTCHA is (unfortunately) inaccessible by nature.
a bit of a paradox really.. but any effort to make these interactions more discernable to a user that relies on assistive technology therefore renders them easier to solve by a person or script with malicious intent.
my personal opinion is that software interfaces should not rely on the end-user to provide their "security" layer....

weigh your requirements carefully (security vs. usability/accessibility) before using captcha

There have been no advances, the labels for advanced fields are displayed underneath the field because the Field Label is shown above. If this is an issue then you need to use Standard Fields and not Advanced Fields.

Hi All - Just wondering if there were any developments on this issue please. I'm running into a similar issue with a government agency.

This firefox add-on is a good 508 compliance development tool:

If you provide us more details on what exactly is wrong with the captcha field, such as an example of the incorrect code and what needs to be changed to make it compatible we can look into it. I'm not familiar enough with 508 accessibility guidelines to know what needs to be changed with the captcha. What is a good online tool for validating for 508 compliance?

We're having the same problem. The client receives federal grant dollars and the site must pass 508 compliance. We're using http://wave.webaim.org/

We can get around the problem with the name field by not using the advanced name field. However, the captcha field can't be fixed since it has a misattributed label error.

Can gravity forms be corrected to make that label 508 compliant?

thanks!

There is no way to change the order of the label and input fields. The labels on advanced fields appear below the fields, by design. For example with the Name field the First and Last Name labels appear below the inputs. This isn't currently configurable.

I'm trying to make my generated Gravity Forms compatible with Section 508 & WCAG guidelines.

I'm running this form page (http://www.utradiologyconsult.com/report-website-error/) through the validator at http://www.totalvalidator.com/validator/ValidatorForm and I'm receiving a couple of errors regarding the labels & IDs. It's also not passing validation due to the order the label & input fields come in, but that doesn't seem to be editable in Gravity Forms.

Has anyone else ever run GF through these checks/validations?
