Gravity Forms is a form builder tool. It can be used to create a Directory, but it's not going to create it all for you. The only part it's going to handle is the submission form.

If you want to use WordPress Posts to power your directory listings then you could use Gravity Forms to create a form that creates a new post on your site. You can then use categories and tags to organize your posts and configure your theme to present the posts as directory listings.

There is also a 3rd party add-on called the Directory Add-On that can be used to present form entries as a directory on your front end. You can find this Add-On here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-addons/

But again, this is a 3rd party add-on that works with Gravity Forms. We didn't create it and I am not familiar with all of it's features and functionality. You'd have to discuss this with the developer of that Add-On.

If you need a turnkey directory solution thats going to handle everything for you, Gravity Forms is not going to be the solution for you.

Hi!
I want to create a business directory - into different categories - ie accountants, bakers, doctors etc, and give them the ability to join the category listing - dependant upon my approval.

I have looked at the directory tutorial on Youtube and still can't figure out how I go about creating the different categories, and having a page devoted to listing them.

Can Gravity Forms do something like this?

Many thanks for you time reading this.
