Sorry here is the link.

I have tried everything and my webhost has replied that it is not them.

http://e-wastegone.com/

Also emailed you my xml file Chris.

Although I move the file to another install on a different server (same webhost though - dreamhost) and it lagged there as well.

Built a new form and tried that to no avail.

Please Help!

I am having the exact same problem.

I run gravity forms in easy fancybox and have a the same form running a few times on the same pages.

All of which was working great.

added w3 total cache and still all working great.

All of the sudden noticed submissions were off, tried the form and it takes forever to submit. Minutes.

Ran all of the tests mentioned here. Knocked out all plugins — only had 4 running anyway, G xml sitemaps, thesis openhook, easy fancybox and W3.

Tried submitting the form within the form preview with all plugins off and it still lagged.

I am hosting with dreamhost and have tickets open. I think they are the culprit.

If anybody thinks differently and has any ideas please let me know.

@viaForensics, please export your form as XML and send that to me at chris@rocketgenius and I will install it on my server to see if there is a difference between servers.

Also, follow the advice here: http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/slow-registration-submit?replies=9#post-71800

(i.e. See if there is a delay when submitting from the preview, and check for theme and plugin conflicts.)

Update: for @kendrajohn, removing the URL field from her contact form resolved the issue. It's most likely a security module on the server (mod_security or suhosin maybe) that does not like that input for some reason.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the reply. I tested this morning and it clocked even slower - about 25 seconds. Here's a link:

https://viaforensics.com/register/

I just installed that on my server and the form took 8 seconds to submit before I saw the confirmation text. I tested another of my simple forms and it took the same amount of time. It could be your host. Or it could still be a plugin or theme conflict, affecting even the form preview, so it's good to test for those anyway. http://rkt.gs/testing

You can also try a simpler form. Maybe one without the URL, to see if the server does not like the data being input there. It's worth a shot.

Thanks you for responding directly to me! Okay I tried submitting the form in the preview and it took just as long. So I am going to export it to you in just a second.

For more minor delays, between 4 and 10 seconds, enabling AJAX when you embed the form will provide some feedback (the spinner) to the user to let them know something is happening, so maybe they won't submit the form again. But really, 64 seconds points to a problem, not to something that someone needs to wait for.

Each individual site will need to be handled separately, rather than all in this one topic. Each issue is unique.

@kendrajohn, I submitted your contact form http://www.keylimedigitaldesigns.com/contact/ and it took 64 seconds before I got the confirmation text. That's excessive and not normal. If you would like me to test your form on my server, please export it as XML (Import/Export menu, then the top menu item "Export Forms" - select your form, and then attache the XML file to an email you send to chris@rocketgenius.com ). There was a similar problem recently where it took over 2 minutes after pressing submit, but on my server (which is nothing special, just a shared hosting account) it took just 4 seconds.

Check to see how long it takes to submit from the form preview in the form builder. If that too is slow, it's most likely something with the host. If that is fast, then you probably have a theme or plugin conflict. You can begin testing for those by following the instructions here: http://rkt.gs/testing

I responded to kendrajohn here because her reply is the only one with a URL. To the other two members with a similar problem, please begin a new topic with a clear description of the problem you are having, and include a link to your form online, so we can help you individually. Thank you.
