Yes, you can use it on a test/dev site.

An alternative to editing your theme to add the custom field values would be to use the Post Content Template functionality available in the 1.4 Beta release. This allows you to customize the post body content and output form field values right within the post body.

However, implementing custom fields in your theme itself will be more flexible as it will allow you to conditional statements, etc.

Hi,
I have made an event submission form in my site which has more than 20 custom fields and I need to customize the post page to show the custom fields.

I do not want to mess up my blog while trying to modify the code.

I have a test site, where I usually test the themes and plugins before applying it to the main one.

Can I upload the plugin to my dummy test site to test the plugin ?

Will there be any problem with GF license when I need to test it?

Thanks
