You shouldn't have to keep flipping themes to make updates and 128 MB is typically sufficient.

One important question is how many other plugins do you have activated?

The more plugins you have, the more memory you use. So under most circumstances 128 MB should be enough for Gravity Forms to work fine with Thesis as well as other plugins... if you have a lot of plugins installed there are no guarantees that will be enough.

If you have no other plugins installed and it is just Gravity Forms and Thesis then something else is going on. Either there is some sort of server configuration issue OR while it appears you have 128 MB of PHP memory allocated it may not actually be allocated properly.

Let me know how many plugins you currently have activated and which ones they are and we can go from there. We may need to login to your admin and take a look.

I'm not aware of any Thesis related conflicts and we have a lot of Thesis users that use Gravity Forms.

What you describe sounds like a PHP memory issue rather than a theme or plugin conflict. It appears as if it is a theme conflict only because Thesis must use more PHP memory than the default Twenty Eleven theme.

What you need to do is increase your available PHP memory and that should resolve the issue. What is happening is there isn't enough available PHP memory to complete the AJAX requests associated with adding a field or saving a form.

Here is a tutorial on how to increase your available PHP memory:

http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/

You may need to contact your host for assistance if you are unsure how to implement this change.

I would suggest a minimum of 64 MB of PHP memory and ideally 128 MB or more if possible.

I wonder if there's something in your custom_functions.php file that's causing a conflict? Maybe clear that table temporarily and see if the GF works. If it does, try adding functions back one at a time, until you pinpoint which one is causing the conflict.

Hi All just purchased GF and seem to have a theme conflict.

Basically with thesis set as my theme, i cannot save / create any forms (the save never completes and when clicking the fields I want adding to the form nothing happens).

But when i switch to twenty eleven theme it all works no problem, so frustrating !

Any ideas ?

Thanks
