Thank you for pointing out the other post as I somehow had missed it when running a forum search on entries. The need to restrict access to leads is a great example of the usefulness of this functionality, and I imagine that it will be built in at some point.

Since the client needs to keep costs to a minimum, I think I'll suggest that we hold off on this until it can be done right with either an upgrade or addon when available. I can't risk a breach of confidentiality and can't put much more into this right now.

Thank you so much for your thoughts on this.

I mentioned in a previous post somewhere about just deleting the entry in the database as soon as it's made, with a post submission hook or cron job or something. The data would still be written, but it could be quickly removed as soon as it's written. Maybe that approach would be possible?

You're right - those permissions are not form-specific (they apply to all forms.)

Carl Hancock addressed specific form entry viewing here:

There are two forms on the site and I'm guessing that the administrators would not be able to see either form with this solution. I'll take a look at the plugin though to make sure I understand the possible settings. Thanks.

I appreciate your thoughts on this.

I'm not sure if you can prevent the entry from writing to the database, but if you use the Members plugin from Justin Tadlock, you can remove the capabilities for specific roles so they can't view entries:

gravityforms_view_entries

gravityforms_view_entry_notes

So, you could modify the administrator role, remove those capabilities, and then administrators can't view entries. They can still see the dashboard widget (I believe) but that just shows form name, unread entries and date of last entry. Would that work?

If you use the Members plugin, right after you install it I believe you will lose access to your Forms menu (i.e. it disappears.) You need to configure the plugin to allow access to gforms. It will be apparent after you install the Members plugin.

Hope that works for you.

Is there any way to turn off entries for a form? I'm working on a church site and they'd like a form that is confidential to the priest only, by way of email. I can use the same to and from email address, but can't keep administrators from viewing this form's entries.

I saw a thread from 3 months ago that this was not possible at that time, but wanted to see if anything has changed since then. Or if there are any ideas for a work around.

Thanks for your help.
April
