Hi Edee. I'm not familiar with the "Subscribe via email" feature of JetPack, but I suspect it subscribes someone to the RSS feed of your site? Do you have a URL where we can see how this works now?

It sounds like your form will handle the contest, and you would have a checkbox (maybe checked by default) to "receive email updates", and that is what should subscribe people via email? I think you will have to do this on the back end, for it to be seamless. Or, you could redirect the person after their contest submission to the jetpack signup page where they would complete the registration. The problem there is that you can't show them a confirmation/thank you page, and you lose them after sending them to sign up off your site.

If we can see the page where the function exists on your site now, maybe we can come up with another work around.

Quick question:

I want to use GF to hold a little contest on my site. I'm not using MailChimp, just the standard "Subscribe via email" set up through JetPack. I'd like contest registration to auto-register entrants to receive blog updates via email. Is there a way to do this, or will I need to do this by hand on the backend?

Feeling fairly inarticulate and brain-empty today, so I hope this makes sense.

Thanks.
