I think my developer made customizations which were not necessary. I was looking to have the ability to post several topics and have a person check one of the topics. The checked topic will bring you to another page with questions which are related to the topic which was chosen.

This new page is a question and answer page. Think if it like a FAQ page, but the answers only show up if the box is checked. If some one checks on a particular question, the result will pop up. They can select as many questions as they like. When they get to the bottom of the page, they have the ability to print out the checked questions and answers.

Probably only if you or your dev has a backup. The plugin files should never need to be altered to do customizations since we have extensive hooks/filters and css can be placed at the theme level. What kind of customization was it?

I recently updated to the newest version of Gravity Forms and the customization which I paid someone to do has been lost. Any way to recover it?
