I am trying to install our license key, but every time I click on the Settings or Register links I get a message that I don't have sufficient rights to view the page. Since it's the only admin account on the WP install, that confuses me. Any idea how to configure the license key if I can't get to the settings?

You can't install a plugin if a plugin already exists. So if you already have Gravity Forms installed, you can't go to add new plugins and upload the Gravity Forms zip file to install it again.

If automatic updates aren't working it is most likely because you haven't entered your license key on the Settings page of Gravity Forms. You can retrieve your license key from the My Account page of this support site.

If you are running a very old version of Gravity Forms (ex. 1.3.11 and earlier) then it may not be compatible with the automatic update functionality in the newer versions of WordPress in which case you need to update manually.

To update manually you would do the following...

- Go to the Plugins page in your WordPress Dashboard
- Deactivate Gravity Forms
- Choose Delete to Delete Gravity Forms
- Go to Add New Plugins
- Select Upload
- Upload the Gravity Forms zip file you can download from the Plugin Downloads page on this site
- Activate Gravity Forms

Deactivating and Deleting Gravity Forms will not delete your forms, entries or settings. They are stored in your database, not the file system.

The only thing that WILL delete your forms, entries and settings is the uninstall option on the Gravity Forms Settings page. So don't do that unless you intend on completely uninstalling it.

I have this message: There is a new version of Gravity Forms available. View version 1.5.3 Details. Register your copy of Gravity Forms to receive access to automatic upgrades and support. Need a license key? Purchase one now.
There is no option for automatic updating. When I download the current version and try to install it, I get the following message. I don't want to wipe out the folder for fear I'll lose my settings/work.
Destination folder already exists.
Plugin install failed.

How do I update it? Thanks, Chuck
