Hi Rob,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
The Gravity Forms upgrade path is more then generous.
I just processed my order for a Business license
Thanks again,
Phil

Upgrading from the Business License to the Developer License gives you a discount equal to the value of your Business License. That would make the Developer License $99.50 or so because your Business License was $99 and the Developer License price is $199.

If you upgrade your Business License to a Developer License rather than renewing your Business License it will both upgrade your license to a Developer License and extend the license for an additional year from the time you upgrade. It doesn't extend the original expiration date of your license, it resets to one year from the time you upgrade.

This is because you are purchasing 1 year of support and software updates for that Developer License. So the 1 year begins when you upgrade.

Can you give an example of how the upgrade process actually works?

For example if I purchase the Business license at $99/year and decide that after 6 months I want to upgrade to the Developer license at $199/year do you charge me the $199 minus the 6 months of Business license ($49.50) and restart the license clock on the date that I upgrade or do you charge me the $199 minus the 6 months of Business license ($49.50) and NOT restart the license clock?

I am guessing you restart the license clock. That would make the most sense to me especially as the upgrade date approaches the end of the initial license term. Resetting the license clock also makes sense to me given how you have license renewals setup.

Yes, I did read the link http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/how-to-upgrade-your-current-license.

Thanks
Phil

If you choose to upgrade, the price of your current license will get applied to the upgraded license price. You can also find out some more information about upgrading here:

Is there an upgrade path? So if I start with Basic but want a better license, can I upgrade with the difference in price, or do I have to pay full price of the new license?
