I see now that there is an existing site, non-wordpress, and this development site which requires the /etc/hosts entry.

I know the IPN returned a 200 success code, but that is still hitting the wrong site, the old site, not the new WordPress site, where the PayPal add-on is located. It's odd that the old server returns a 200, but I guess that is expected with just a query string and a domain. The query string is ignored.

There is no way for PayPal to know that bhvs.org.uk is located at this alternate IP Address. PayPal will never communicate with your site at 91.102.69.153 - if you look at their IPN history, it's showing the bhvs.org.uk domain, not the IP address. So, the notification is sent to the old site, and Gravity Forms never knows about it. This is the reason IPN is not working, as detailed in this reply http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/user-reg-and-paypal#post-74821

The response code of 200 means success. Please send an administrator log in for your site and I will take a look at the configuration.

Can you check the IPN history at PayPal? Sounds like with the hoops to jump through for the DNS setting, maybe PayPal can't communicate with your server? They would not be making that DNS setting change for you.

Check the PayPal IPN history and let us know what it shows. Thank you.

Hi Chris,

Please add this entry to your hosts file:

91.102.69.153 http://www.bhvs.org.uk

The form is located here:

http://www.bhvs.org.uk/membership

I have the IPN set as :

http://www.yourdomain.com/?page=gf_paypal_ipn

The form accepts the entry takes you to paypal - paypal accepts the payment but the user is not registered on the site.

I have the registration condition unticked in the User Reg and:
