I second motion a Userrole based option to direct publish or draft posts.

Aditional I am looking for a solution based on the number of users already published posts. For example: User has less then x published posts -> pending. User has more then x published posts -> direct publish.

Is it possible for certain users to publish right away and restrict others to pending?

Neither will be published without approval. I think pending is intended to mean "it's done, publish it" and draft is intended to mean "i'm still working on it." In this case, either will have the same effect: the post will need to be reviewed and published by an administrator or editor (normally) or user with sufficient role.

You can find a little bit of discussion online about it:

Yes. You can choose Draft, Pending or Published. No need to leave them as Draft if you want to publish them right away. The setting is in the form builder and requires nothing more than a selection in a drop down when creating your form.

Hi

We have several thousand "guest" bloggers and are considering to leave the registration process out and use gravity form instead. We will put the Guest Post Submission page behind a password. I read that the user submitted post end up as drafts for approval. Is it possible to skip the approval and publish them at once.

Regards

Martin
