I think pending is intended to mean "it's done, publish it" and draft is intended to mean "i'm still working on it." You can choose Draft, Pending or Published. No need to leave them as Draft if you want to publish them right away. We will put the Guest Post Submission page behind a password. I read that the user submitted post end up as drafts for approval.
