I love this option to upload files. However I agree I would like to see a file limit imposed and more detailed upload feedback (status bar).

The file upload field on non-AJAX forms happens when the form is submitted so there is no visible feedback. If you enable AJAX (one of the shortcode options) the spinner next to the submit button will spin while the form is submitting as a visual feedback but that is the extent of the built in options. We plan on incorporating more advanced functionality when we introduce multi-file upload capabilities to the file upload field.

That's pretty cool. Once the file upload is complete, the confirmation message appears. But there isn't any visible activity in the meantime for large files. Do you know a way to show a notification that the upload is being processed? (wishful thinking perhaps)

Gravity Forms has no file size limitations, the limitations are entirely server side and related to max PHP file upload size settings on your server. The files themselves aren't included as attachments on the notification emails so your email wouldn't be bogged down, you'd have to click to download the file.

Is it practical to use Gravity Forms for file uploading up to 65mb? That's the max my server is set up to allow. I find that if I create a form with a file upload, then don't put any "fields" in the forwarder. I get a notification, then go to the WP admin, look under Gravity Forms submissions and the file is there. This way I don't have my email queue bogged down with some huge file. BUT, is there a file size limit somewhere or any other issues that would make Gravity Forms less than stellar for public (client) file uploads?
