Ok, lol I'm not complaining cause I do realize it's all "at my own risk", but I copied the files over and replaced my current public release version... and then I could no longer access my admin area.... front end works fine but back-end comes up with a server error.

I did backup the files of the working public release version I was using, but it didn't change anything when I copied them back over. So I just change the plugin folder name and I can get back in.

So before I restore my site... I just didn't know if you had any suggestions. Thanks again.

UPDATE: Nevermind... user error... all is good. Thanks.

Awesome! Thank you for the immediate response. This is quite possibly the best money I've spent.

This feature is in the Gravity Forms v1.5 release that is currently a development release and is available on the Downloads page. It will be available via automatic upgrade once it is out of development.

It allows you to use form field variables in the from address field. So if you get the correct form field variable from the Insert Form Field drop down you can insert it into the From Field and it will be used.

sorry to resurrect this thread, but this is something that I was trying to do today. Once I realized I couldn't do it, I came to the forums to see if there was a solution.

Is there any projected time-frame we can look forward to regarding this added feature?

Thanks.

Right now it isn't possible to configure the From Email on the User Notification to use a form field. But it is something we plan on adding in the future.

Hello. I am trying to use a form to create a simple e-vite where a user can enter in their email address and a friend's email address. The email would then be sent from their email address to their friend email address. I am not sure if this is possible using gravity forms. I can do then 'Send to' email address using to the Friend's email address field (under 'Notification to the user.' But, is it possible to configure the 'From Email' to use a form field?
