If they appeared after the submit button they would be outside the form itself and wouldn't submit with it because the form closes right after the submit button.</p> <p>Is the person submitting the form going to be logged in? If so it would be possible to populate a hidden field with the username of the person filling out the form. But that would require a customization via PHP.
