Greetings Gravity Peoples!

So here's my question: Is it possible to call a different action (specifically Perl CGI) for the forms without changing the core files? I'm due for developer renewal, but I need to know how/if GF can do this first and still achieve validation. I've located some topics like this in the forum; but, alas, I have been denied access to this helpful, possibly life-saving information due to my product's unfortunate recent expiration.

I thought about renewing a personal license just so I can read the few forum posts about Perl and actions, but it's a gamble. For all I know, the blocked responses could read 'Sorry that is unpossible without some super cereal crazay modificationness.'

I am able to easily integrate other standard web forms with my current Perl script beautifully, but I'm not sure where to start with Gravity. I've searched the documentation thoroughly for hooks, API, etc., but the examples don't really fit or explain how to do this neatly.

I'm a little gun-shy because the last time I sought support on how to revert to null in conditional logic (with a valid license), I was dismissed with 'that'll take crazay modificationness.' I was able to create a simple solution myself, being a serious n00b, using jQuery. After posting my solution to the forums, my feature was later implemented in the next release.

Anyjaways, I'm rambling. I just feel like I bought, read and even co-authored an awesome book, but the last page is being held hostage until I fork over some more dough. And I'm not even sure if the ending will be worth it, lol ;)

Maybe you can at least give me a clue as how it ends?

I can't believe I (nor anyone else) has noticed this, but drop-down fields in latest GForms (1.7.2) are not responsive. All the other fields that I have in my forms are...just not the drop-downs.

Any idea when the GF team will make the drop-down fields responsive?

Thanks in advance.

A maximum word count feature would be great.

I know there is maximum character count available, but word count as an option there would be very helpful.

This has been raised in pre-purchase question and this resource mentioned: http://roshanbh.com.np/2008/10/jquery-plugin-word-counter-textarea.html but having looked there I have no ideas about how to implement the code and don't have the resource to justify hiring a developer who does.

Add my vote for the integration of a word count feature :)

Hello to all.
How can I show the html field also in the form emailed?
Which part of the code must change in order to make it visible, along with all other data compiled?
Add a specification: I have to add a shortcode for a plugin, or alternatively an html code of jquery, from which the user must select an option.
I need that option is visible in the final result.
Thank you very much to all

Hi There,

I just purchased the basic Gravity Forms option a few days ago. I'm trying to build a sign-up form for my live bands/live music website (affordaband.co.uk), where instead of new bands emailing me from my website, instead they can click on a sign-up link on my site, and input all their live band details there - band name, biography, photos, mp3's, video clips etc.. I need them to input the data, then click "SUBMIT", where I get an alert that says PUBLISH, and then I can approve, or make changes, I click PUBLISH, and it becomes a nice formatted page (or post) added to a certain area on my Wordpress site. But my webguy can't figure it out, and I've got no chance. Please help!!!

Thanks Heaps,
Stu

Submitting a form using the Enter or Return key on the keyboard doesn't work in Internet Explorer when the a field with a mask has focus.

I have a form with two masked fields 'zipcode' and 'number' and a mask-free field 'numbersuffix', whenever I try to submit the form using the Enter key it only works when the focus/cursor is in the 'numbersuffix' field. It won't work when one of the masked fields has focus.

The problem occurs on Internet Explorer 8 and 9, it might occur on other versions too, but I didn't test that.

I might add that IE gives the 'doink' sound if you have sounds enable, when trying to submit the form this way.

Thanks in advance.

saturnus on "Review Website"

So I want to use gravity forms + custom post type to make an "Album Review" post. The input would be an image resized to medium aligned to the left, with 3 lines to the right of it (release date, genre, record label). Then the review below it.

Then the tracklisting, band links and buy the album below.

Example: http://www.thealtreview.net/2013/06/17/miles-kane-dont-forget-who-you-are/

So of course I want to be able to use image upload, text, text area, WSYWIG editor, numbered list, etc.

I have Contributors (so they would be the author of the post) submitting posts with Editors/Admins editing and publishing the post. Of course Contributors consistently mess up the formatting so I want this to stop happening and have every review post look exactly the same and I want to make posting reviews simple which is why I want an input form that will become a post (the review).

How would I go about acheiving this and is it possible? Obviously I want to be able to keep the way the album reviews look as they currently do.

Thank you.

I helped my customer setup a website. There is one page using Gravity Forms. And visitors are mandated to upload 2 files with each one using its own input fields. Now we have over 200 entries. And we find that a handful entries' uploaded files are mixed up. For example:

Entry 757 has File1.doc and File2.doc. Submitted on: 2013/06/21 at 3:02 pm.
Entry 768 has File3.doc and File4.doc. Submitted on: 2013/06/21 at 4:35 pm.

Actually File2.doc should belong to entry 768, because the content of it matches the data in entry 768. And it's clear that the File2.doc and File4.doc are different versions of one Word file.

And other issue is that: since this is a website in China. Some visitors uploaded file with Chinese names. From backend, we found that most of the files' names had been changed to format like doc11.doc, ppt33.ppt, etc. But some of them had not been changed. Is there any rules or patterns?

Anyone can help with me on these 2 problems?

Thanks a lot!
