I am interested in this as well. To me a contact form is just that - a web interface for sending email. I don't want it to add or store any files on my server as this poses a significant security risk.

  3. Currently file attachments are not supported. It is a feature we would like to add in the future, however it is a bit more complex and you run into server performance issues attaching large files to emails, etc. So it is something we want to look into adding in a future release, but I can't promise it will be added. Lots of variables to take into account.

Seriously? I wish I had known this prior to buying this thing.

If I have all of my contact forms sent to an email address, and I allow attachments, why would you want me to have to retrieve all the attachments from my server? If attachments aren't sent with the other form contents why is there an attachments field?

    This is just wrong.

  5. It's not an attachment field, it's a file upload field. It is to upload files to your server. Forms aren't specifically for emailing, they are for a wide variety of uses. Notification emails are just one feature, and the file upload field is used for a variety of things far beyond their usage in email notifications. Post Images, etc.

There isn't much difference between clicking to download a file attachment and clicking and downloading a link to a file in the email.

File attachments have technical issues and providing a link in the email to the file is the most reliable method of insuring all users can download their files. Not all web servers support file attachments on emails, so when this feature is implemented it is still going to be dependent upon the users web server supporting this capability.

  6. Hi Carl,

I've been searching across the forums for some answers to questions I am receiving about attachments in notifications. Your last reply is very helpful and I agree about file uploads reliability.
