Auto-sync a WP user role with a Campaign Monitor list?

    Hello,

I was looking at your product. We're currently using WordPress and Campaign Monitor. We have premium subscribers that pay each month for access to the blog. These users get put into a "Gold Member" WordPress user group and then need to be put on a special Campaign Monitor mailing list. We're looking for something that will automate the process of adding a new user that signs up for the premium service and also delete them if they fail to pay us or decide to cancel. Here's how it would work:

    1. Customer goes to our website and goes through check out system
    2. Our API adds their username and password to WordPress and upgrades them to "Gold Member" automatically
    3. This member then gets added to the "Gold Member" mailing list in Campaign Monitor.
    4. If the user cancels or we fail to get their payment, our API downgrades them from Gold Member and they should be removed from the mailing list.

  2. Gravity Forms can be used to automate registering a user and creating a subscription using PayPal (or soon Authorize.Net which is in alpha testing) and then changing the users role when the subscription is canceled.

However, currently the Campaign Monitor Add-On does not support selectively adding and removing the subscriber based on this process. The Campaign Monitor integration always occurs regardless of payment status.

BUT this is one of the updates planned for all of the email marketing add-ons to support only adding the subscriber after payment is received AND removing the subscriber if they cancel the subscription. So it is coming soon to the Campaign Monitor Add-On.

Thank you for your reply. Is there a way to have Gravity forms sync WordPress with Campaign Monitor based on a user group? I think we can handle the removing of users manually but it would at least be nice that when a user signs up and gets put into the premium user role that they are added to the Campaign Monitor list.

  4. Gravity Forms only integrates with Campaign Monitor when a form is submitted. So any additional integration with other functionality in WordPress would have to be done using another solution or by writing your own custom solution.
