I want to purchase GF soon, but I wander if you are allowed to install GF on projects for customers? or would it be better to purchase single licenses per project?

However, one thing to keep in mind is clients will not be able to get support. Only the license holder will be able to get support.
In some situations it may make sense to purchase a single license for the client. This is so they can access support for their own license if you are no longer doing work with them.
Some developers use their developer license, others purchase a license for each client. It's entirely up to your relationship with the client and how you want to do it.
