Chase Paymentech plugin?

  1. My client does not want to use paypal. How do I set up another payment option? Specifically Chase Paymentech.

    Thank you.

  2. Megan, this is not currently possible. The only payment gateway add-on we have is PayPal, with an authorize.net add on coming soon, and PayPal Pro after that.

You can study the PayPal add-on and see how it works to be able to replicate that functionality for other payment gateways. The beta release of the authorize.net add-on will be available very soon.

  4. I have developed a Chase Paymentech Payment Gateway for the Shopp Wordpress shopping cart and plan to develop one for gravity forms as well. If you would like me to keep you updated on the progress feel free to shoot me an email: nick@getrouty.com

Im clearly a newb and don't understand a lot of this. But can someone explain why we need a plugin at all? Why can't we simply take whatever total number created and bring it to a checkout page using whatever it is you may want to use? And if its just an issue of finding a way to string the data along, then why do we need plugins for each and every CC processing? Once we found a way to string the data, what difference does it make what processor we use?

Im sure there are solid answers to all of the above, I don't think I actually "cracked the code" I'm just curious as to the answers.

  6. The actual credit card processing process is different depending on the gateway. Authorize.net requires the information in one format, where as the Chase Paymentech / Orbital Gateway requires it be sent in a different format. The collection of the information is abstracted to where users checking out won't know the difference between their credit card being processed by the Authorize.net gateway, or by Chase Paymentech etc.. But in the back end, it is different, hence why the different plugins are required.
