Correct PayPal Account

  1. How do I know if I have the Proper PayPal account that works with Gravity Forms? I have PayPal Pro, not sure it it is the legacy version?

Please let me know how to figure out compatibility before I drop 200 on a dev license.

    Thank You,

  2. Tyler,

I think your best option here would be to reach out to PayPal and let them know which actual version you are running.

  3. Rob,

Service I have through PayPal are: PayPal Payments Pro, Virtual Terminal, Fraud Management & PayPal Express Check Out.

Which other information should I ask for?

  4. Tyler,

Our current "Pro" Add-On is for PayPal's legacy PayPal Pro API and is not compatible with PayPal's new PayPal Payments Pro accounts. We are very close to releasing a beta for the other API.

That's about all the information I know to give you here. Trust us when I say we are in full agreement of the utter confusion PayPal has given in this situation.

  5. Rob,

How close is 'close' to a release? We talking days, weeks, months?

Also, when I call PayPal to verify versions (My PayPal Account was acquired a good time ago, so it may be legacy), what type of questions should I ask? Do you have a PayPal version number, or is it just PayPal Pro Legacy? I would love for this to work, but I don't want to pay $200.00 for nothing? Please point me in the right direction in asking PayPal the proper questions.

  6. Close as in next week.

The PayPal Payments Pro Add-On will be released as a v1.0 Beta 1 release next Tuesday.

We have one issue we need to take a look at that I encountered in my latest testing involving subscription transactions and once that is taken care of we'll be releasing it as a Beta 1 release.

We'd probably release it latest this week if it didn't happen to be a holiday weekend but our offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday due to the 4th of July Holiday.

But we have scheduled it for release next Tuesday.

  8. No problem Tyler, it's a shame PayPal makes things so confusing. Not only for users, but for developers providing solutions that use it. We'll be offering official support for Stripe soon and once we do we'll be recommending users use it over PayPal when possible.
