Cost of upgrades and support after 1st year

  1. I know this has been asked a few times before, but it is a very important question! It's already been discussed that the cost of support and upgrades isn't on the website, and this is because it hasn't been decided. It's also been mentioned that it will cost somewhere between 25% and 50%. This leaves me a little in the lurch. Before I buy I really want to know what the future holds. I'm also very concerned about the prospect of paying out $100 per year which is a lot of money for me (yes, I know it's a fantastic product!). I think I am right in saying that you recently changed the system for new users- before you paid for the dev version and you got lifetime support and upgrades. I'm really annoyed I missed this, as if this was still the case I'd definitely buy without any more issues.

    So...
Could you be more specific as to what the cost for ongoing support/upgrades will be? As developer version users can we be assured that you won't hike up the price? If you haven't decided yet, when will you be able to let us know?
Would you be able to offer lifetime upgrades and support for new customers for a higher price? If so I'd be interested depending on the cost. I'm really gutted I missed the boat- I have only just discovered Gravity Forms!

    Thanks.

  2. I've just seen this post-

So it looks like I have most definitely missed the boat. However I would love it if you offered a lifetime support/upgrade option. It would also be good to know what the cost for a next version is going to cost me after the year is up. if it's the odd $50 every now and again I suppose we could cope with it, but $100 per year is going to be a little too much.

  3. Hi baritoneuk,

The change to yearly renewals was originally May 1st 2010, after which we extended the cut off date until June 1st 2010. This change was important to keep continued upgrades to the product and support sustainable. I'm sure you can understand. :)

The renewal price for a Personal License is 25% off. The renewal price of Business and Developer Licenses is 50% off. We do not make future pricing guarantees; however, we do guarantee the pricing for existing customers. If you purchase now, you'll be guaranteed the current renewal price for the life of your license.
