Creating a Ticket Support System

    Howdy,

I came across the article here which talks about how you can use the Gravity Forms user add on to implement a cheap n quick ticket support system. Firstly of all do you support the views of the author of this post? or do you recommend a better approach?

I'm just curious if you guys have heard of people pulling this off effectively I was going to set it up for my site, but my only concern is how the posts are laid out as blog posts rather than nice forum looking posts..

I thought it would be cool if it integrated with BBpress and if there was much involved to do this.

I think it is a neat idea, but like you I worry that it won't be easy to manage/maintain long term if you get thousands of messages, but it is doable. As for integration with bbPress, that's not something we've looked at as of yet. You could easily theme a normal WordPress post system to look more like a bulletin board system though.

  3. Hey @sallysmart, I wrote that tutorial, and just saw this thread today, but I was thinking about your concern, you could always set up a form for each category (or topic) this would then link to category specific (archive) pages. That would help with a heavy support forum.

Also, because GForms allows for users to register, you could activate this feature, which would add another level of forum management to your site. Viewing post by user. You could also have an archive page for each user, which would allow you to view, filter, organize, etc...yet one other way.

I/m sure if I thought more on this, I could come up with more ways to make it a even greater solution!

Let me know if you want me to keep working on it.
