Data Security with Payment Processor Add-ons

We currently have a business license and are considering upgrading to a Developer license in order to get a payment processor add-on.

I need more information about how the Authorize and PayPal add-ons work. How is the credit card data managed? I'm assuming it doesn't get stored on our end?

Is there some kind of demo we can see where either add-on is used?

Any information you can provide would be much appreciated. This seems like it would probably be a common question, but I didn't see anything in forum, so please excuse me if this has already been answered elsewhere.

    Thanks.

All of our documentation is available here:
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/PayPal_Add-On
With some more in depth details:
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/PayPal_Add-on_Developer_Docs

Credit card details are taken by the payment processor or sent to the payment processor. There aren't any demos with those add-ons in play. All of our available demos can be found here: http://www.gravityforms.com/demo/

    Hope this helps.

Thanks David. I really need to see how a form using this add-on looks from the front end, to the customer. And I need to understand more about how data is passed and processed. Is there someone I can speak to about this over email?

  4. We don't offer email support. With the Authorize.net and PayPal Payment Pro add-on, the visitor never leaves your site: the transaction is sent to the payment processor after the form is submitted, and then the confirmation page is shown after the payment is completed. With the PayPal Payments Standard add-on, the customer is directed to PayPal after submitting the form to complete their transaction, then they are returned to your site after the transaction is complete.

What additional information did you need?

So, with Authorize and PayPal Pro - The payment information is not in any way stored on our end, correct? All of that data goes to and stays with the payment processor and the entry record does not include payment information?

  6. The entry contains only the last 4 digits of the credit card number and the personal details you have collected in your form. The credit card number is not stored by Gravity Forms.
