Docs in a PDF for Download?

  1. Any possibility of getting the documentation in a single PDF for download?

  2. There is no PDF download of the documentation available. The documentation changes so frequently, it would quickly be out of date.

  3. @Chris:
I know that's the standard reply.

You guys could easily version the docs to a particular version and update of GF. It's not that big a deal and would make the documentation infinitly more usable than it is on the site.

I certainly appreciate the plugin and your overall support. But for folks like me, it would be very convenient to have something I could easily print out. BTW, your basic instructions for most of the plugin have not changed much. It's just the advanced features.

I find it a cop out to say, "it changes too frequently". There has to be a real reason. We're talking about what almost every other software package, theme or plug in has: A file to reference on the current documentation.

    What's the real reason?

  4. I'm afraid I can't answer most of those questions. The majority of the team is out of the office until next week. I'll make sure they address this when they return.

There used to be some PDF links of documentation, but it was a long time ago, and I'm not sure what happened to them.

  5. Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I'm not really looking for "links" to PDF's somewhere on the site. I'm just looking for a single document, easiest to produce in PDF, that has all the current documentation in one place. One download. I could easily hunt through the documentation site, put the page content in a Word file and produce a rudimentary full document. It looks like that's the only way to get it done.

But it sure would be nice if there was a button on your Documentation page to do it.

X2 - I agree a single document would be much more useful.
