Embeded/editable post forms

  1. Am I correct in thinking that this software has similar features to "TDO Mini Forms" (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tdo-mini-forms/)?

In that you can embed a "post" form onto a page and allow open content submissions to your site?

If so - does this extend to editing content? For example, can you bypass the WP dashboard entirely and JUST use embedded add/edit post or page forms that are powered by gravity forms?

I know its assuming a lot but hey, this would be awesome :)

  2. You are correct, you can create a form that allows users to submit a post to your site. It is then saved as a draft and will need to be approved and published by someone with the proper permissions.

Currently once they submit the post they cannot edit it. Editing raises some implementation issues, although we might be able to come up with a way to do it in the future. Right now it is a one way post submission.

Currently the only post fields that are available are fields that create a Title, Body, Excerpt, Tags and Custom Field capabilities. We plan on adding Post Image and a Post Category drop down field in a future release.

It's going to get better, we went with the basics to start with.... had to end development at some point otherwise version 1.0 would never get released.

  3. Understood. TDO Mini Forms also has issues with editing, it had it, removed it, had it, buggerd it up, etc... SO I can see why it had to be left out for now.

Thanks for your reply. If you ever get the whole add/edit forms functions OUTSIDE of the dashboard sorted I will be seriously impressed :)

  4. Yea, it's certainly a tricky feature. I have some ideas on how it might be possible to pull off. Maybe we can make something happen with it in the future.

  5. Hey Carl, any news on this one?

I'd love to see a way to feel your forms a simple query string for editing purposes.

Also the ability to add Pages rather than just posts would work a teat for custom CMS work.

  6. Hey Kimb, we do know how we are going to implement the ability to manage the post body and insert the post image that is uploaded into the body of the text but i'm not 100% sure if it is going to make it into the 1.2 release or not. It might not make it into the plugin until the 1.3 release.

We will look into the ability to add pages. There is no technical hurdle with it, it's just a matter of how to best present it in the admin. We try and make things as easy to use as possible so we want to think things out before adding them... don't want to just cram the admin with as many features as possible without thinking about usability.

  7. You can use a filter to add a page instead of a post.

    Howto is here:
