Enable Password Input (v. 1.4.5) in Single Line Text

  1. What does "Enable Password Input" actually do when checked (appears in Single Line Text)? I can't find any documentation about this function -- either within Gravity Forms (via tooltip), in these forums or on the web. My hunch is it either integrates with the User Registration Plugin or perhaps is a 1.5 feature that isn't completely finished.

    Any insight would be appreciated!

  2. "Enable Password Input" uses the password input type. There is a standard input type of password which masks the input using asterisks. Enabling this changes the input type of the field from text, to password. It doesn't do any validation, it simply uses the type="password" for the input.

It is not what is used with the User Registration Add-On. The User Registration Add-On adds it's own full featured Password field with validation, and strength checker.

  3. Hi Carl,

You mentioned the User Registration adds a different password field. Where do i find this? Currently, I used the password under "Advanced Fields". The password I specified wasn't set properly upon new user registration - so I think this is the wrong field?

  4. I'm sorry - please ignore me. I forgot to choose the field in the user registration settings and it was still set to auto-generate.
    Sorry.
