Entries got delted after field was modified

  1. I had a form up to collect email addresses, and I was using a text field instead of email. When I wanted to add another field in after couple of days, and change the email from text input to proper G-Form email input, all my entries was deleted.

I know there's no way to recover this, but is it possible to stop this from happening in the future?

  3. You could always export the data to CSV and then change the field, or duplicate the form and then change the field and place the new form on your page.

  4. thanks for the reply.
we could, but that means keeping a CSV record as well as the form entry ids, ideally we would want a way to change the field type and keep everything centralized as we work w fairly large numbers of staff (clients, managers, devs)

    I've tried using the filters:
    gform_column_input (new in v. 1.6)
    and
    gform_field_input

but they dont seem the trigger the email validation~

I also tried changing the inputType and type values in the serialized rg_form_meta and was shocked when that did not work!
