Estimate / Quote, Admin Action Required

  1. Alright, so here's a bit of a tricky one... at least I think.

I need to be able to supply a "request for estimate" for services. A user logs in (private page) and fills out the "Request A Quote" form. Once the form is submitted, an email is sent to the Admin as well and perhaps a receipt.

Now, the really tricky part is here: I need to allow the Admin to then view the request and submit the price quote for that estimate. :$ Admins will be able to view all estimates/customers will be able to view all estimates.

I hope that makes sense... just not sure if this can be done with GF.

  2. Currently Gravity Forms entries (form submissions) are only viewable by the users who have access to the WordPress Dashboard which is typically Administrators only. Users cannot view entries they submit. At least not right now.

This may be possible despite this limitation. There are Notes associated with form entries. The user could submit a price quote and then an admin could use the Notes to submit the price quote. The Note can be emailed to the customer.

Other than that there isn't currently built in features that do exactly what you describe. Another option may be to use Gravity Forms and the Gravity Forms Directory Add-On which is a 3rd party Add-On which DOES let you display Entry data on the front end. Then using Admin Only Fields you could add a field to your form that only Admin's see that is for inputting the price quote. The Directory Add-On has options for display admin fields like this. So that is another solution.

So with some customizations and creative use with the Directory Add-On you could probably do this with Gravity Forms.

  3. Carl, what a SPEEDY reply! Thanks a lot!

I wasn't planning on displaying the form entries within the font-end... rather, a custom dashboard section or "client area".

The end result is that both clients and admins can view the estimates... but admins have the ability to ADD the quote price. I'll look into that Add-On plugin you mentioned.

On another note... is there an option for admins to export a CSV?

  4. Yes, admins can export a CSV of all form entries, or a limit the export to certain dates. You can select which fields to include in the export.
