Field Lable Placement

It would be great to select whether the field labels should be below (current location) or above the field.
Above seems most logical to us as you read the label of the field and understand what need to be input rather then see an empty field and search for what has to be typed in.
We know we can do this by modifying the CSS file but then future upgrades will delete this.

  2. Label and description placement can be set per-form. It's on the properties tab of every form. Screenshot: http://min.us/lbmTthB6zLsbUP

Do you mean something other than that?

Thanks, l think i didn't quite explain myself correctly.
Let's take a field for example "Address". When we add this the field name is Address which we can set as per your screenshot. If we add a description we can set where this goes as per your screenshot, however, for each field element such as "Address", "City", "Country" etc we cannot select where this displays. By default it is below the field and this is what l refer to in the original post above, it is confusing for a user as they are presented with the field before knowing what they are meant to input.

  4. I see. For the complex inputs, you are correct, the description will be positioned beneath the input. However, you can add the CSS to position them and if you add the CSS to your child theme's style.css or custom.css, you will not lose those changes. You should never modify the plugin's forms.css file as, as you know, it will be overwritten with each update. We never recommend modifying that file and always recommend adding the custom CSS rules to your own theme's stylesheet,
