Forms with automatically populated user data for logged-in-users

    Hi,

Before upgrading to the Developer License I'd like to know if the following is possible with the User Registration Add On:

    - A new user subscribes via a registration form to the website and is then forwarded to a new form which is already populated with the user's registration data (name, address, email etc.). After sending the form he has the option to add another form which as well is already populated with the user's personal data and so on.

    - An existing user is forwarded to a new form which is populated with the user's registration data after he sent a login form. After sending the new form he has the option to add another form which as well is already populated with the user's personal data and so on.

So basically I'd like users to be able to have their data already filled in in specific forms after they are logged in.

    Thanks,
    Thomas.

  2. Yes, you can capture that information and pre-populate fields for logged in members.

However, right now, there is a bug preventing that from working. It will be resolved with the next release of the user registration add-on, and it available if you request it via email as well, but if you download the latest WordPress and latest User Registration add-on, it would appear that it does not work, due to this bug. It was introduced when WordPress changed the way they handle usermeta in version 3.3+.

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure if I understood you correctly - the bug-free version is only available via email request not via download? And I do need the user registration add-on in order to pre-populate fields for logged in members?

Looking at this post http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/right-parameter-names-to-pre-populate-the-names-fields#post-14044 I do not see any involvement of the user registration add-on...?

It's not that I'm not convinced of the product and willing to upgrade but I want to make sure that I can do what I want to do with it...

Many thanks for your help in advance!
    Thomas.

  4. Sorry, my wires got crossed. You do NOT need the user registration add-on. Sorry.

The version of the Gravity Forms plugin with the fix to populate the user meta fields is not yet released on the download page. If you purchase Gravity Forms, we will have to email you the fixed version, if you make your purchase before that is publicly released. It will be released as a bug fix very soon. I just did not want you to download the plugin, not have it work, then be mad at me, since we know there is an issue. It's been fixed and I wanted to spare you the frustration.

So, new, fixed release of Gravity Forms is coming soon (but is not yet on the download page) and you do not need the User Registration Add-on.

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for the info. I already own the Personal License, does that entitle me to get the fixed version via email?

I'm planning to update to the developer license soon (because of the priority support) but as mentioned I'd like to know first I have the right features available...

    Cheers,
    Thomas.

Thanks for the bug fix, works great with the default values!

Unfortunately I got a white page when trying to implement this advanced method for prepopulating fields with Gravity Forms: http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/right-parameter-names-to-pre-populate-the-names-fields#post-14044.

(The above topic has been closed so please let me know if it's okay that I'm posting this here or if I should open a new one...!)

    Regards,
    Thomas.

  9. Thomas, please open a new topic and reference the related posts. Chances are, the white screen is a 500 Internal Server Error due to a syntax error, maybe and extra <?php or missing <?php. Please start a new topic though and we will address the new issue there.
