General pre-sales questions

  1. Hi,

I am hoping to use GF for a new website I've been asked to do. It is for a concert ticket agency who want their visitors to enter ticket requests via the website and for the information to then be accessible via a backend DB. There is no e-commerce to this site - the clients are contacted after filling out the form and then the sales data is added manually to the DB by them.

The column headings maybe something like : Client Name, Company, Company Address, Contact Number, Email Address, Event Type, Artist(s) Name, Venue, Date range, Quantity, Where did you hear about us?, Replied, Accepted - Declined, Dispatched, Customer Discount, Paid, Completed, Comments, Quote Number.

    Here are my questions:

Is it possible to view more than 20 entries per page?

Is it possible to color code certain cells in the DB and, if not is it possible to star certain entries automatically depending on a particular value of a particular cell?

They want these values to be filled out by the visitor: Client Name, Company, Company Address, Contact Number, Email Address, Event Type, Artist(s) Name, Venue, Date range, Quantity, Where did you hear about us? But these values to be filled out by them: Replied, Accepted - Declined, Dispatched, Customer Discount, Paid, Completed, Comments. Is this possible?

Can it be integrated with WordPress' registration. So only if you're registered you can fill out the form and the email address and registration id is carried over to the database?

Are you able to search entries within single DB columns or is it only possible to search all the entries.

    Thank you.

  2. QUESTION: Is it possible to view more than 20 entries per page?

Currently the entry view page is set to display 20 entries per page. This isn't configurable. We may make it configurable in a future release, but currently is set at 20.

QUESTION: Is it possible to color code certain cells in the DB and, if not is it possible to star certain entries automatically depending on a particular value of a particular cell?

Cells cannot be color coded. Form Entries can be starred, however this is done manually be selecting the entry you would like to star on the entry view. It isn't done based on a field value.

QUESTION: They want these values to be filled out by the visitor: Client Name, Company, Company Address, Contact Number, Email Address, Event Type, Artist(s) Name, Venue, Date range, Quantity, Where did you hear about us? But these values to be filled out by them: Replied, Accepted - Declined, Dispatched, Customer Discount, Paid, Completed, Comments. Is this possible?

Fields can be visible by the public or set to admin only. This means you can have some fields on your form that the user can see when they fill out the form, and also have some fields that can only been seen when logged into the administration and viewing that form entry. So yes, you could have fields that are private.

QUESTION: Can it be integrated with WordPress' registration. So only if you're registered you can fill out the form and the email address and registration id is carried over to the database?

Gravity Forms does not have built in user registration. We plan on adding this feature in a future release. HOWEVER, it is possible to integrate use registration if you know what you are doing with WordPress, PHP and API hooks. We have some users that are doing just that. But it isn't out of the box functionality.

QUESTION: Are you able to search entries within single DB columns or is it only possible to search all the entries.

Currently it searches all fields. We have plans for an Add-On that will bring more advanced search functionality to the entry display, but currently the search is limited to all fields and not specific fields.

  3. Hello, thank you for replying to my thread. Unfortunately the client that asked me to quote for this has completely disappeared! It's a shame because I was looking forward to using GF on the project. And I think it would have been a great solution for them. I hope there will be another project where I can use GF in the future.
