Got to say the support is a little disappointing!

With glowing reports of GF's support from Headway, and the testimonials here, I have to say I am a little disappointed with the support. No doubt the product is fabulous.

    A few disclaimers:
I am relatively newbee, and its a first up post to GF.
I have searched all the documentation, and forums on GF.
    and posted the topic.
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/variables-in-email-notifications

just noticed a new topic, similar request, similar response.
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/dynamically-populate-to-email-address-for-form-within-short-code

Didn't seem to be too difficult.
Expected a one line response with, you need to do this......
    but got a
"This is entirely possible. You will want to use the user notification section of the notifications, and put the merge tag in the to field. "

The documentation is particularly light in this area.

Not bitter - Just twisted ;)

I'm sorry you aren't happy. I found out after the fact that you can't mix fields and text the way I thought you could for the e-mail to field. I am going to spend this evening working on a solution for you.

I would like to say that no one slips through the cracks, but with over 300 support requests a day, we do the best we can.
