Gravity Forms Speed

  1. We currently use Contact Forms 7 plugin for our wordpress website (drjgoldsmith.com) with CAPTCHA images. According to pagespeed insights, we need to improve our server response time, and these CAPTCHA calls/images are taking a long time to render, slowing our home page down. Do the gravity forms have any ill effect on the pagespeed via these captchas? If it's going to be the same issue, I'd rather not spend the time to replace all of the CF7 forms with gravity forms. Please advise and thank you!

Hi there, it depends on what CAPTCHA system you use, but most of them, because of image generation require some server time to create. Some are faster than others of course.

  3. so what if the captcha field was hidden until a condition was met in your form, would that captcha then wait to load until it is made made visible by the met condition of a previous field?

Potentially, depending on what kind of field. If it uses images, it would likely not be loaded until JavaScript loaded the element. I am not a JavaScript expert though.
