gravity forms to subscribe and later unsubscribe from multiple choices

One of my websites has multiple newsletters that a user can register for. Basically setting the site up to send post_type rss feeds to mailchimp using 1.4beta.

What I am trying to figure out is how to set up a form where the user can choose from the available feeds to receive, but also have the ability later to go in and remove a choice.

I've tried explaining to a few people that they can unsubscribe via the mailchimp newsletter footer, but that is not going over to well.

Seems like a simple concept that works in other platforms than wp which I use, but can't seem to get a handle on with gravity.

    any pointers?

    btw
loving the integration. I am not noticing any problems in basic 1.4 configurations using 3.0beta2. Then again, I am only using simple logic at the moment.

  2. You would have to setup multiple MailChimp feeds for that form using the add-on. One feed for each mailing list. If you are using a checkbox for the mailing list selection in the form then each MailChimp feed you setup using the add-on would correspond to an individual checkbox selection.

Currently MailChimp unsubscribe functionality isn't a feature of the add-on as the easiest way to unsubscribe is to do so via the unsubscribe link in the emails that they receive. we may add an unsubscribe feature in the future, however it isn't currently something the add-on manages.

    Thanks Carl
I had figured out the idea about using the check boxes for subscribing. Where I got 'lost' was having an area where the user could go and see their current subscriptions and remove themselves.

Glad to hear it's something being considered in the future.

I plan on really running 1.4 through it's paces this weekend and filling as detailed a report as I can. I don't see a beta forum here, so not sure where it's best to do any reporting. I know you sent it to me a very long time ago, and I apologize for not getting back sooner. It's taken me this long to become completely competent with wp, where I could file meaningful reports. I've spent months working on wp code now, so at least any input I give would be relevent. So far, I have to say that it works pretty darned good.

  4. @anointed Just so you are aware, the 1.4 release you have was actually already released. It wasn't actually a beta of 1.4, it was just a development version that has already been released (I believe as v1.3.10 if I remember). So there is no need to beta test it.

lol, ok thanks for the headsup. I'm guessing that you are probably already way beyond where I would have been. If you need more testers just let me know. I love gravityforms and would love to help anywhere I can. It's hands down one of my favorite all time plugins.

  6. Hi

I am implementing something very similar to this thread. I have a drop down list of items to select from, and each item will have a separate list in MailChimp for that record to be subscribed to. I understand the part on creating multiple feeds for the form....but I dont understand how to map the item selected in the Gravity drop down list to the corresponding feed.

Check out this great video from Carl about using the Mailchimp Add-on. It includes information on how to make details sent to the right list based on which item a user selects in a drop down.

You are looking for the Opt-in Condition.
