How can I require a passcode for user registration form to register new users?

I have a buddy press site and plan on using the user registration add-on to register people. Is it possible to require a pass code for people to submit their user registration? I don't want to charge money, but I do want only people who have been invited to be able to register. I guess one option is a secret url that I provide. Any better options? Plugins you know of?

I can just password protect the registration page when editing the wordpress page itself. That's easy!

  3. You could just go with a membership plugin or private community plugin.
Check wordpress.org for private community plugins. If you go with membership plugin I should advise you to go with premium plugins.
