Import form results to New Event in The Events Calendar Pro

  1. I went looking for a form/contact plugin because the contact form I was using conflicted with an add-on to The Events Calendar Pro plugin. The add-on allowed anonymous and registered users to add events to the calendar. Unfortunately, the add-on used the same Visual/HTML editor that is used in adding new posts and pages, but the form was all wonky looking (please excuse my highly technical terminology) in my theme and in twenty-ten/twenty-eleven, even with my original contact form disabled.

Besides the extensive overriding of inherited styles, I'm not sure that's even a very secure method of creating new events (you can disable the Visual editor, but not the HTML editor). Then I discovered Gravity Forms this morning. I played a bit with the demo (a little disappointed I wasn't able to see a preview of the form I created). I have a feeling this might be what I need for security and function.

I did a search of the forums and see a number of mentions of The Events Calendar [Pro], but because they are all in protected forums, I have no way of knowing if Gravity has been used to integrate the data fields with TEC or what problems have been encountered.

Is there any information you can pass along to me about using the forms to populate the fields in the Add New Event admin form for TEC?

    Thanks,

    Jim

  2. Jim, it is not possible right out of the box, but it is possible with a small bit of customization.

  3. Thanks Rob, wow, that's a great resource there and even continues onto the Modern Tribe site to help get it working for version 2. Very encouraging. I should be a new customer of Gravity by tonight.

    Best R'gards,
