There is currently no support for importing data into Gravity Forms like you are requesting.

  4. There is not currently a simple solution to this. Gravity Forms entry data is stored in a complex way. Entries are only created as part of the form process.

There is not currently a single function that you can just call and pass values to it. Forms are very complex and every form is different because the user defines the fields, etc. So it's a very complex situation.

In order to import entries you would need to write PHP to import the data directly into the database. While doing so you would need to store the data exactly the way Gravity Forms needs it to be stored. It would be very easy to screw up, which could cause data integrity issues. It's certainly possible, but I would recommend it only be attempted by someone who is extremely familiar with Gravity Forms and it's data structure.

Entry import functionality is something we plan on addressing later this year. We will be extracting all of the Import/Export functionality into it's own Add-On which will also incorporate entry import. We will be doing this so that we can streamline the core plugin and so that the Import/Export functionality can be refined on enhanced on it's own development cycle separate from the core plugin. This is exactly what WordPress did with it's own import/export functionality.

  5. Hi - I have this requirement too (data import). Is there an update on "Entry import functionality is something we plan on addressing later this year." Is there a timescale for this addition? Sounds like a really useful feature!

Thanks in advance for any info.

I need to import data as well, and need if you can recommend developers who know about gravity forms structures to help me with this project.

If you know of anyone please reply or send me a message.

It is an urgent project that I need to complete.

    Thanks
