Integration to Woocommerce to replace our existing site

  1. I want to provide a form to the customer to collect data about embroidery or personalisation which they will be charged according to the options selected. add an item to the basket, tick personalise this item to see current system.

The customer will select different fonts, thread colours, option for text, logo, logos and text and this should all render in a preview at the bottom of the screen.

We are looking at woocommerce themes and they suggested Gravity forms might be the solution to our problems.

Gravity Forms can help allow you to build a complex form with products and product options and modify the price based on those criteria, but it won't allow you to show a preview as we don't have a way to build images. You could use our HTML field to show/hide different things based on user selection and layer up a PNG using some tricks, but if they want a custom word, we wouldn't be able to help with that.

  3. Hi David,
Sounds interesting. I am fairly new to the web thing so how would you be able to layer using the html a png?

That would require a developer to help you create that customization. It isn't something inherent to Gravity Forms.

You can play with and export demo forms from http://gravityforms.com/demo

As for developers, I don't know any off hand. We have a Job Board you can post in, and I recommend jobs.wordpress.net and sites like odesk.com.

  7. Great, thanks.
Is it also possible for the customer to select an image from a choice of images?
    If so how?

You can have radio button labels be images by using HTML code. You can also use a HTML block, and then something like a checkbox to correlate with the images.

  9. Perfect.

I also want the customer to choose a font. Can that font then be transposed into the text entry box?

We don't have any built-in ability to do font selection like that. You'll need to find a developer to do that integration/customization.
