Is there a way to see if a user is subscribed and paid?

    I looked through the developer documents but I can't seem to find a way to check to see if a user is a subscribed/paid member.

    I would like to send a newsletter to members who are currently not expired, is there a flag in the system that indicates whether a user is expired or not that is somehow linked to subscriptions that are setup to a paypal feed?

    Okay so I just noticed that once a user expires (from the user subscription section) that you can set them to a different role. I created a role called "expired" and I will query for "subscribers" when looking for valid users.

    I'm assuming this is the correct way to approach this?
