License transfer & other question

Let's say I buy Gravity Forms under my name and email, can I later on transfer the license to someone else's name and email? I'm developing a website for a client so I will buy the license on her behalf and transfer it to her when the site is done.

Another question is, I understand that the license cannot be used concurrently on 2 live sites. How about if the client want to make changes, etc in the future? If I remove the license from her live site and move it to my development site, then the form in her site won't be working. Am I right? What is the solution to this problem?

If I buy the developer license, does it mean I can use the same license key in any number of live sites? Does it mean my customer doesn't have owner right to Gravity Forms if, let's say, she decided to hire other developer in the future. This doesn't sound like a good solution either if my assumption is correct.

  2. Yes, you can transfer a license to another person. Just contact us and provide us with your purchase email, the license key and the new email and name of the person you want the license transfered to.

No, the site would still work. Leave the license key on the live site. It's okay to use it on a development/testing site. As long as it is obvious it's a development site and not a concurrent live site that is actively being accessed by the general public it is perfectly fine.

With a Developer License you can use it on clients sites if you wish. However, the license key is still yours and you are the only one that would receive support site access and support directly from us. So if you no longer had a relationship with that customer, they wouldn't be able to contact us for support unless they purchased their own license key. How you handle this is up to you. We have developers that allow their clients to use their license key and we have developers who require their customers purchase their own license.

    Thanks, Carl!

About the developer license, so if I ask the customer to buy their own license, I just need to replace my license in wordpress with theirs?

  4. Yes, you would swap out the license used on the site with their own. Update checks, etc. would then use their license. They could then register on the support site using the email address associated with their license and access support resources.

    Hi, Carl.

What if at first I buy Single Site License and I upgrade to Developer License later? Will I have to pay the Dev License full? Or I just need to pay the leftover?

  6. @syahwinda If you wish to upgrade from a Single Site License to a Developer License you can contact us for an upgrade coupon code and you will receive an upgrade discount based on the license you already own.
