Mailchimp Login() API to be disabled

I got an email from Mailchimp about their Login() API being end-of-lifed soon. Just dropping in to hopefully hear that this does not affect the GF Mailchimp add-on and/or you know about it and are on top of it. I would be scuh-rewed if my client's list opt-ins stopped working.... Let me know if I need to forward the email.....

  2. Old versions of the MailChimp Add-On used the Login method.

The first thing to do is make sure you are running the latest version of the Gravity Forms MailChimp Add-On. The latest release is v1.5.

The next thing you need to do is go to the MailChimp Add-On Settings page. You get to this page by going to the Gravity Forms Settings page and then clicking on the MailChimp subnavigation link on that page. It's the page where your MailChimp API information goes.

If on the MailChimp Settings page you see a field for API Key and it's populated... you are good to go.

If on the MailChimp Settings page you see a field with a Login and Password? Then you need to get your API Key from your MailChimp account, enter it in the API Key field and remove your login and password from the settings and then save the settings.

The latest versions are backwards compatible with both versions, so make sure you are using the API Key method by populating that setting in the MailChimp Add-On Settings page.

alright, Thanks so much Carl. On the particular email/site I got the message for it's definitely using 1.5 and API key. Guess it's some other integration in that client's MC account that generated the warning from them....

  4. Yes, it's possible it's from another site. If your site(s) is using the API Key on the MailChimp Settings page of the Add-On then you are not using the Login method.

  5. So if there's already a feed setup in /admin.php?page=gf_mailchimp I don't see API login or anything other than editing the feeds. How do I see those settings?

  6. I'm having the same problem with one of my client's sites:
    http://www.jevondangeli.com

I checked the MailChimp add-on version - and it's 1.5. And, the API key is there, plain as day. However, my client is still receiving the warning notifications from MailChimp, so it seems it remains unresolved.

Any ideas on what might be going on here?

    Thanks!

  7. If the MailChimp Settings page reflects that you are using the API key and not the username/password login then it will be fine.

MailChimp is sending those notifications because at one time your client must have been using the old login method. They are not distinguishing between what is actively being used and what was used in the past.

They are sending the notification to anyone who's accessed their API via the login method within the last XX number of months when sending those notifications.
